Assessment is a critical component to school operation and the school counseling program. School counselors continually strive to provide focused, student-centered, and effective programming that leads to positive student outcomes. They prioritize ongoing assessment to support school-wide success. Using the ASCA National Model (2019), they evaluate their programs and professional practices to ensure the quality and effectiveness of their service.
A Closing-the-Gap Action Plan and Results Report is shared with administrators and other stakeholders for program transparency. "Was the school counselor's annual outcome goal met? Why or Why not?"
The School Counseling Program Assessment is a comprehensive tool used to identify program strengths and areas for improvement. "Does student data reveal strengths and weaknesses in the program?"
ASCA School Counselor Professional Standards and Competencies Assessment is a tool used to identify professional strengths and areas for improvement. "Does the school counselor's demeanor and ability reflect ASCA professional standards?"
School Counselor Performance Appraisal Template is completed by an evaluator or counseling supervisor.
